The Islamic Unit, Matholi’ul Anwar, at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), encouraged the young generation to improve their creativity in developing Islamic apps through the Young Muslim Creativity Event. This competition involved high school students in designing UI/UX for Islamic apps.
This competition, a mobile app-based designing competition, was themed ‘Creative and Moral Youths of Indonesia.’ This event is expected to push youths to keep creating creative innovations.
“This competition was hosted in response to the constant need for digital apps in living our daily lives. Hopefully, this event can push youths to generate more ideas for positive digital apps,” Muhammas Azkal Azkiya, the head of the committee, explained.
There were several teams participating in the Young Muslim Creativity Event, with two to three members each. During the designing process, the participants were allowed to utilize various tools, including Adobe XD, Figma, and many others. In addition, there were also two stages in the competition, namely, the preliminary and final stages.
“In the preliminary stage, participants were obliged to submit their app design proposals. Following that, the top ten teams would advance to the final stage. The final stage was held online on January 25th, 2024, through Zoom Meeting,” he explained.
Good Benefits
Dr. Rindra Yusianto, S.Kom., MT., the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau, hoped for this event to benefit the public, particularly Muslims, and push youths to be more creative.
“Hopefully, the Young Muslim Creativity Event could always be hosted for the years to come. The Student Affairs Bureau will also provide support for positive events similar to this one,” he concluded.
The Young Muslim Creativity Event is a part of the 2024 Dinusfest. A total of 36 competitions featured at the 2024 Dinusfest will last for two weeks, from January 20th to February 5th, 2024.
