Being able to garner accomplishments is something to be proud of. Recently, athletes from Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) garnered 14 medals in the Taekwondo sports branch. Those medals were earned at a competition hosted by the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora).

The competition was entitled Indonesian Student Sport Championship (ISCC) 2 Kemenpora Championship. A total of 14 medals consisting of seven gold medals in the Kyorugi category were garnered by Hanindra Agung N (U.87kg Category), Belinda Anastasia (U.62kg Category), Daffa Fauzan (U.58kg Category), M. Fernanda Izza (U.54kg Category), Alisa Aulia Putri A (U.46kg Category), Yanuar Firmansyah S (U.63kg Category), and Yustika Arya Bima A (U.68kg Category). Meanwhile, a gold medal in the Poomsae category was clinched by Ninda Regita P (Women’s Poomsae Individual).

Four silver medals in the Kyorugi category were earned by Bima Afkanur R (U.63kg Category), Gita Asmarani (U.57kg Category), Andika Apriyanto (U.68kg Category), and Davin Surya S (U.54kg Category). While a silver medal in the Poomsae category was attained by Dwi Devangga (Men’s Poomsae Individual). Through these medals, Udinus emerged as the grand runner-up.

Dr. Rindra Yusianto, S.Kom., M.T., the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau at Udinus, expressed his pride for the accomplishment achieved by the athletes, particularly those who were part of the Taekwondo unit at Udinus. According to him, these athletes managed to deliver a phenomenal effort in claiming the medals. This would not have been possible had those athletes not shown any sign of dedication. Furthermore, Dr. Rindra hoped for these athletes to show even more dedication to the upcoming events.

“I hereby congratulate these athletes from the Taekwondo unit. Hopefully, their phenomenal accomplishments can motivate other athletes from different units to also show their talents and be accomplished,” he emphasized.

The ISSC 2 Kemenpora Championship was hosted with a flaming competitive atmosphere from April 25th to 28th, 2024, with Ciracas Sports Building in East Jakarta being the venue.

Various contingents in Indonesia and some dojangs/clubs also participated in the event , with a total of 2000 athletes. The Taekwondo ISSC 2 Kemenpora Championship offered two categories, including Kyorugi and Poomsae. Several athletes of different ranks participated in the event, including pre-cadet, cadet, junior and senior , who represented their respective contingents or clubs from numerous provinces in Indonesia.
