Semarang – The ‘Smartposyandu‘ program is an innovation of Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) students, that is capable of improving the quality of health services and information accessibility. The innovation that was born from the Student Creativity Program of Community Service (PKM-PM) was the result of problems encountered at Posyandu (Center for Healthcare and

Smartposyandu is made because of the manual data administration at the health services in Srikaton Village, Pati Regency, Central Java. After conducting the survey, according to the cadres in the area, healthcare workers have to fill in data manually which will take time. Hence, reports are often too late to be submitted.

Smartposyandu is an application that can be accessed via a website or mobile. It is an innovation designed by a group of students from two different majors. Among others, Nayla Rani Khoirun Nisa from the Public Health Undergraduate Program is the chairman, and Rizki Koes Oktariana Dyah Ramadhani is a member. Moreover, three members from the Undergraduate of Informatics Engineering Program also played their roles namely, Dafa Sultan Atalariq, Muhammad Rizki Mahendra, and Radian Dhuha Farsainsa.

Team Leader, Nayla Rani Khoirun Nisa explained that the application was adopted from web-based programming materials using JavaScript and PHP combined with a database for data storage. Later, the cadres (health professionals) will complement each other's data without repeating it manually.

"That way, it will save service time, and the reporting process to the village midwives can be done in real-time. The data can be directly accessed by village midwives in the form of Microsoft Excel as a format to be sent to Puskesmas or the local health center," explained Nayla.

Some features are tailored to the needs of the posyandupartner. These features include data about children patients that can be filled out and edited at any time. Not only that, there are also absentee panels, user settings, midwife information, and even schedules for routine vaccination. Partners are also provided with guidebooks as guidelines for users when new cadres are involved.

"Last week, we also conducted field trials during the service on the 3rd and 6th July 2024. Since then, the situation at the Posyandu is more conducive without any long queues. The cadres also stated that they strongly agreed with all perceptual statements through the questionnaire we distributed," she added.

The supervisor of this project, Syifa Sofia Wibowo M. Keb., hopes that the Smartposyandu application will be a breakthrough in improving the quality of service and accessibility of information. "Next we will apply for IPR (intellectual property rights) for the partner handbook and its application, to obtain the copyright to the program purely developed by Udinus students," said Syifa.
