Malam awarding menjadi penutup pelaksanaan Dinus Pangdam IV Cup XVII di fasilitas terbaru Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus). The first basketball tournament held at the Udinus Satria Sports Center (USSC) involved dozens of basketball teams from junior high and senior high schools. The tournament took place on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024.

At the annual tournament, new talented basketball athletes were discovered for the men’s basketball team division I as the Elite Team and division II as the Rising Team for the Central Java contingent and its surrounding area. The division I was won by the Terang Bangsa Christian Senior High School (SMA Kristen Terang Bangsa), while the division II was won by the Public Senior High School 4 of Semarang (SMA N 4 Semarang).

Dr. Kusni Ingsih, M.M., the Vice Chancellor III of Student Affairs at Udinus, was present at the tournament and congratulated the winners. She revealed that the tournament had been running well for the past week.

“Tonight, we have successfully used this newest facility to hold a basketball tournament for junior high and senior high school students. We will appreciate the efforts of these champions by providing them with scholarships to continue their studies here at Udinus and join our basketball club,” she uttered.

In detail, the winning team would get a voucher valued at 10 million rupiah. Meanwhile, the runner-up would be rewarded with a voucher valued at 7.5 million rupiahs, and the third placer would earn a voucher valued at 5 million rupiahs to enroll at Udinus.

The tournament was hosted at the Udinus Satria Sports Center (USSC) located at Satria Raya St., Plombokan, North Semarang Sub-district, Semarang City. In addition to high school students, the tournament also discovered talented junior high school athletes. The Men’s Junior High School category was won by the Karangturi Junior High School. Meanwhile, the Domenico Savio Junior High School won the Women’s Junior High School category.

During his interview, Louis Aglens Magpal, the Captain of the Terang Bangsa High School Team, expressed his pride in leading the team to be the champion. Despite having initial problems, the team performed in a solid manner by focusing on communication between players.

“Thankfully, my team and I earned the scholarships from Udinus, and I will later consider this opportunity with both of my parents. As for the facilities and the court itself, I believe it is good enough per the international standard.
