Muhammad Labib Zaenal Arofi, a student at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) who received a KIP-K Scholarship proved that he had the same opportunity as other students without any limiting factor. This commitment motivated Labib to participate in a student activity unit sponsored by the campus, namely, the Kamadiksi Community.
The Kamadiksi Community houses students who receive the KIP-K scholarships. This year, with the community, Labib was able to send a proposal for the Student Organization Building Program (PPKO), and his proposal was successfully funded.
In addition to the proposal, Labib, an Informatic Student of the 2023 Class, has also garnered some achievements. Recently, he was nominated to be the 2nd Best Presenter at the National Student Seminar and the Call of Paper #2, which were hosted at a university in Magelang
“At the Call of Paper, authors sent articles concerning Public Empowerment, my PPKO team and I decided to use Maritime Village as our topic. This topic aligns with our PPKO program, which was conducted in Sendang Sikucing Village, with the local empowerment to achieve maritime excellence as our main topic,” he explained.
To fulfill the output of the PPKO program, Labib and his team participated in the National Student Seminar and the Call of Paper #2 with the support of the Student Affairs Bureau, from whom Labib got the information for this paper seminar.
“We were able to achieve such a feat thanks to our fellow students for showing their support to us. During the article submission process, I presented my article as one of the authors, and we were nominated as the second-best presenter at the seminar,” he explained.
Soft Skills Improvement
During his participation in various student activities, Labib stated that there were many soft skills unobtainable in conventional daily lectures. The experience of contributing directly to the public cause led Labib to the reality of problems that needed to be solved quickly and precisely.
“This problem-solving ability is what led us to resolve the whole predicament. However, we must keep it in our mind that we need to use this problem-solving ability per our capacity,” he uttered.
According to Labib, the atmosphere provided by the academic community at Udinus helped him and his fellow students in every student activity program, which would make him more motivated to expand his accomplishments.
“Udinus is very supportive of its students succeeding in every single student activity program. It is a pleasure for me to receive this support, as it is a privilege motivating me to conduct more studies or activities to develop my inner potential,” he uttered.
For the time being, he would aim to earn even more achievements for the campus. Furthermore, he also advised his fellow awardee students to keep giving positive contributions to the campus.
“Hopefully, with our commitment, we can prove that we, as KIP-K scholarship awardees, have the same opportunity to chase marvelous attainments as regular students do,” he concluded. (Humas Udinus/Ika. Foto: Dok. Pribadi)
