All students from the Diploma Medical Records and Information Department at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) managed to pass the second session of the 2024 National Competence Test of the second period. The competence test was held in three different locations, including Karya Husada Semarang, Ngudi Waluyo Ungaran, and Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto.
A total of 169 Medical Records students at Udinus participated in the test that took place in three different locations. Dr. dr. Zaenal Sugiyanto, M.Kes., (the Head of the Medical Records and Information Department) stated that the test was among the most important conditions for students to graduate. “In addition to completing all courses and writing articles, the competence test is also necessary for students before their graduation,” Dr. Zaenal uttered.
The competence test was hosted on a national scale by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology recently. The passing students will be rewarded Certificates of Competence, which will also serve as important documents to issue Registration Letters. These letters are required for them to work in hospitals and other medical facilities.
Furthermore, Dr. Zaenal explained that the purpose of this competence test was to measure and ensure that students held competence per the professional standard in the field of medical records and information. Through this test, students will be able to prove their skills in conducting relevant tasks, such as managing medical data, maintaining patients’ secrecy, and using information technology to support medical services,” he added.
He also emphasized that this competence test aimed to prepare students for their upcoming careers with certified and professionally-recognized expertise. “With the successes of our students at the 2024 National Competence Test, we are fairly certain that they are well-prepared to contribute to the medical sector,” Dr. Zaenal concluded.
