On the second day of the 2024 Dinus Inside, the Engineering Faculty at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) featured alumni to share their experiences with freshmen. The alumni sharing session took place in the courtyard of the I Building at Udinus on Tuesday, September 10th, 2024.
One of those alumni was Haryo Indradi, S.T., who currently works as an Operational Person in Charge at Atas Engineering Ltd. On that occasion, he shared his experience and advice with the freshmen. At the sharing session, Fayla, one of the speakers, took the stand and emphasized the importance of focusing on academic activities at the start of their academic year.
“At the beginning of your studies, it is more important to prioritize academic matters over anything else, as this aspect is the most fundamental for your future,” Fayla uttered.
In addition, Fayla added that the industry was not all about knowledge students learned on campus; it also demands adaptation skills to face many different challenges.
Not only that, the speakers also emphasized the importance of joining organizations to the freshmen. “Student organizations help you build your relations and soft skills, which will later be useful in your future career,” Haryo revealed.
The freshmen were also informed that engineering students would not only work in the engineering industry. This is because Udinus also encourages its graduates to embrace their entrepreneurial side.
With an interactive atmosphere, the freshmen were seen actively involved in the Q&A session with the speakers. They appeared to enjoy the sharing session, as they got the inspiration to embark on their academic journeys with motivations and systematic goals.
As additional information, the Dinus Inside itself is a student orientation event for freshmen, with a total of 3,567 freshmen participating in the event. The event, which lasts for three days, aims to introduce freshmen to the academic systems and various important aspects on campus. (Humas Udinus/Cardina WTDN. Foto: Humas Udinus)
