Basketball athletes from the Basketball Unit at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) have made an excellent achievement, again. At the 3x3 Women’s Glowry Championship, the women’s basketball team from Udinus managed to emerge as the runner-up. The championship was held by the University Student League in Yogyakarta.

The basketball team consisted of four athletes, including Yedida Putri Anugrah Waryanto, Novianti, and Denissa Rahmawati, three of which are Communication Science students, and Shella Arta Melinda, a Management student.

The Women’s Glowry Championship was designed to support and empower female athletes in Indonesia. Yedida, one of the athletes competing for Udinus, stated that they had routinely trained two times almost every day, both in the mornings and afternoons.

“In each week, we trained at Gyms three times, two of which were physical training, with one of these occasions being used to train outdoors. On the weekends, we maintain our physical conditions at home. From this hard training, we are truly honored to be a runner-up at the championship,” she uttered.

The championship, initiated by the University Student League, was hosted in four regions, including Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Bandung, and Jakarta. Their efforts in holding their grounds were not easy, however. This is because 11 teams competed in the Yogyakarta region, and they played up to 5 matches a day.

“One of our teammates was even injured during the semifinal stage. However, our efforts did come to fruition. Hopefully, our fellow students from Udinus can get even better accomplishments than us in other championships,” Yedida uttered.

In response, Dr. Rindra Yusianto, S.Kom., M.T., the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau at Udinus, expressed his pride and joy for the accomplishment achieved by the Basketball Unit. Furthermore, he revealed that this achievement served as one of many efforts to assert the Basketball Unit’s glory.

“We are proud of their achievement, and this may pave our way to a better direction at the beginning of this semester. Hopefully, the Basketball Unit will be able to keep it up and improve their performance even further in the next championships,” he concluded. (Humas Udinus/Ika. Foto: Humas Udinus)
