National accomplishments were garnered by students at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) through their startups instructed by the Entrepreneurship Unit at Udinus. These students were divided into five different groups who participated in the Student Entrepreneurship Coaching Program (P2MW). These five groups passed the program and went to the next stage, the Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) Expos XV 2024.
The expo will be participated by 741 groups from numerous universities in Indonesia. It will be initiated by the General Directorate of Higher Education, Research, and Technology. Furthermore, the climax of this event will be held at Universitas Halu Oleo, Kendari, South East Sulawesi from October 23rd to 25th. 2024.
The five groups are businesses of various categories, namely, ‘Bara Api Ampas Kayu Jawa’ (Baraja) of the creative industry, arts, culture, and tourism category, which is led by Luklu’un Aula, a Management Student at Udinus. The second group is a business named ‘Zona Sports Apparel,’ which is a business producing and distributing sports jerseys. The group is led by Yohana Christi Elyanti, a Visual Communication Design Student at Udinus Kediri.
The third group is ‘Kazeem,’ a startup focusing on administration software management of Islamic Boarding Schools, which is led by Habib Abdullah Faqih, an Information Systems student at Udinus Kediri. The fourth group is ‘Inraga,’ a software startup focusing on organizing sports events and partnering with related SMEs, led by Enzo Styan Nazareno.
The last group is ‘Bumi & Temannya,’ a startup in the manufacturing and applied technology sector. It focuses on processing plastic waste into furniture. The group is led by Pinayungan Sadewa Buwana, an Information Systems student at Udinus Kediri.
In response to this accomplishment, Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom., (the Chancellor of Udinus) expressed his pride and appreciation to all parties involved in supporting these five startups. According to him, approval from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology served as tangible proof that Udinus was among the few universities focusing on entrepreneurship.
“This is good news for us, as prior to this these startups had received funding in the P2MW Program, and now they will be showcased at a national event. Hopefully, the startup teams will be able to expand their relations so their businesses can further see a development,” the chancellor hoped.
Dr. Nila Tristiarini, S.E., M.Si., CSRA., the Head of the Entrepreneurship Unit at Udinus, stated that there were 15 groups whose startups were funded at the P2MW Program, with five passing to the next stage. These five groups will make their way to the KMI Expo to gain access to inspiration, expression, education, and collaboration with other partners and universities.
“We will support the group that made it to the expo in utilizing this opportunity to develop their businesses. In addition, this opportunity may also motivate other students that their business ideas deserve a platform, funding, and relations through this kind of activity,” she explained.
