Farid Daffa Musthofa, a volleyball athlete from Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), won first place at the 2024 Kapolri National Volleyball Cup. At the event, Farid competed for the Semeru Volleyball Team of the East Java Police Department.

Farid, a Management student at Udinus Kediri, claimed that he had been prepared long before the event took place. It started from his involvement as a volleyball athlete competing for the East Java contingent during the National Sports Week (PON).

“During the matches, I mainly took the role of outside hitter. This is among the most important roles in volleyball matches, as I was tasked to pass and strike the ball from the outer area,” he explained.

The 2024 Kapolri Cup was one of the most prestigious national volleyball tournaments in Indonesia, and it was initiated by the Indonesian Police Department. The competition began with the elimination stages of various teams from many contingents. These stages were held in Bandung, Gresik, and Pontianak.

“The event was also witnessed by Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the Chief of the Indonesian Police Department. Our accomplishment is such an astounding feat, as almost every province sent their representatives to compete, including West Java, Central Java, Special Region of Yogyakarta, West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Riau, and many more,” Farid continued.

During the final, Farid, who was born in 2004, had to face an excellent opponent from the West Java contingent. However, his team managed to claim victory with a score of 3-1.

“Every set was rough and tough even to score a point. However, our focus and coordination led our team to surpass the opponent and win the event,” Farid, who is also a part of the Indomaret Volleyball Club, explained.

His victory was a product of his dedication and consistent training over the past several months. Farid admitted that he was glad and proud of himself for making a name for Udinus by achieving the gold medal.

“Last year, I earned a silver medal, but now I finally garnered a gold medal. Hopefully, in the future, I will be able to compete under Udinus’ banner and earn accomplishments, as well as earning further accomplishments to make history,” concluded the athlete with the number 6 on his back from the East Java contingent.
