Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) showed its commitment to improving the national education quality by partnering with the Bina Teruna Indonesia Bumi Cendrawasih (Binterbusih) Foundation. The partnership was marked by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by both parties.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Kusni Ingsih, M.M., the Vice Chancellor III of Student Affairs at Udinus, Dr. Ir. Dwi Eko Waluyo, MM., the Head of International Affairs at Udinus, and Pascalis Abner, S.E., the Chief of the Binterbusih Foundation. The procession took place in the conference room located on the first floor of the H building, with representatives from each faculty at Udinus attending it.
During his speech, Pascalis Abner, S.E., emphasized that this partnership was an important step to provide Papuan students with a better education. He also hoped for the Papuan students studying at Udinus to increase in number gradually.
“Currently, there are 25 students from the Binterbusih Foundation studying at Udinus. Through their studies, we are sure they will be competent, as they are the future leaders of Papua,” Pascalis uttered.
Pascalis continued that studying at Udinus did not only concern getting degrees but also to lead these students to a better future.
“Their studies at Udinus will be important for their future, the future of Papua, and the future of this country,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Kusni Ingsih, M.M., the Vice Chancellor III of Student Affairs, warmly supported this collaboration and emphasized that Udinus had long since been a prime choice for Papuan students. Even before this collaboration, there have been many Papuan students studying at Udinus. Additionally, Dr. Kusni also hoped for this collaboration to have positive impacts on Papua.
“There have been many Papuan alumni who have contributed many things to their homeland. Hopefully, with many Papuan students studying here at Udinus, the Human Resources quality in Papua will eventually improve, affecting Papua’s development in the future,” she concluded.
