The Men’s Volleyball Team at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) successfully carved yet another achievement by winning the 2024 National Student Volleyball League. The league was hosted at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS). It was such a pivotal moment for the team, as it was the first time they won this prestigious competition.

The volleyball team showcased a magnificent performance during the Grand Finale against a team from Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 (Untag). The match was intense, however, Udinus emerged victorious with a score of 3-1 after four sets.

During his interview, Dimas Setiawan, one of the athletes on the Men’s Volleyball team from Udinus, expressed his joy for winning the volleyball league. He also showed his appreciation to the whole academic community for supporting the team. 

“I am proud of our effort in making a name for our campus. The campus has indeed supported us both during our training and competition. Hopefully, our fellow athletes can eventually succeed in achieving their desired results in other sports branches or events,” Dimas, a Communication Science student, uttered.

“With our solid strategy and playstyle, our team could deflect every attack carried out by the opposing team, and strike the ball back to our opponents,” he stated.

Support from the Campus

This success was enthusiastically welcomed by the academic community at Udinus, including the fans who cheered for the team at the league. In addition to fans, the support also came from Dr. Guruh Fajar Shidik, S.Kom., M.Cs., the Vice Chancellor II of General and Financial Affairs at Udinsu, who was also present and witnessed the victory with his own eyes.

During his interview, Dr. Guruh showed his appreciation for the accomplishment garnered by the Men’s Volleyball Team at Udinus. He also hoped for the athletes to seek even better accomplishments next time. In addition, he also reminded them that a humble attitude and strong determination were important to succeed.

“Alhamdulillah, we are so proud of this astounding achievement. However, their journey is far from over. This is because it is also important for them to seek for even better and bigger accomplishments,” he asserted.
