The Student Council Representatives of the Health Science Faculty (FKes) at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) provided a platform for students to voice their aspirations. This was done by hosting an event known as ‘Brainstorming.’ It took place on the third floor of the E building, with the event being attended by students, activists, faculty members, head departments, and the Dean of the Health Science Faculty.
At the discussion forum, there was an interactive and just dialogue among the academic community. Students were given the opportunity to voice their aspirations directly to faculty members and other bureaucrats.
Harnani Happy Denalti, the head organizer, revealed that the event was an annual work program conducted by the Student Council Representatives of the Health Science Faculty at Udinus to gather aspirations and forward them to stakeholders through an effective method, namely, a transparent discussion. The theme of this year’s brainstorming is ‘Transformations Through Collaborations by Prioritizing Partnerships to Spearhead a Positive Transformation for the Health Science Faculty.’
“This theme is chosen to encourage students to actively participate in improving the quality of the Health Science Faculty. This event is also expected to develop new innovations and solutions to resolve various challenges within the faculty,” she revealed.
Additionally, Harnani mentioned that this program was a responsibility of the Commission 1 of Aspiration Affairs of the Student Council Representatives of the Health Science Faculty. It was essentially a turning point after gathering students’ aspirations for roughly four months. Prior to this, the aspirations were gathered through a specific online form, as well as an aspiration box on campus.
“There are around 1,403 aspirations collected over the span of four months. We have noted all of them and forwarded these aspirations to the authorities of the Health Science Faculty,” he continued.
The Dean of the Health Science Faculty at Udinus, Enny Rachmani, S.KM., M.Kom., Ph.D., was present and delivered an opening speech. He also responded to aspirations from students in order for the faculty to eventually see major growth in quality.
“Hopefully, this event will maintain a good and healthy democratic system within the Health Science Faculty. We garnered aspirations from our students as a way to evaluate ourselves to eventually improve the quality of our faculty,” she concluded. (Humas Udinus/Penulis: Ika. Editor: Haris)
