The 2025 Visionary Leader Award was earned by the Rector of Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), Prof. Dr. Pulung Nurtantio Andono, S.T., M.Kom. The award, which was given by the Asia Indonesia Award, was received directly by Prof. Pulung at Hotel Aloft, Central Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Saturday, May 5, 2025.
This achievement serves as an appreciation for the rector’s leadership vision and contributions in pushing technological breakthroughs, particularly in the realm of higher education. On that occasion, the rector is present at the Asia Awards Night with other inspiring figures and leaders from various fields in Asia.
During his speech, the rector exclaimed that his award in the Visionary Leader of Education Award Winner 2025 category was not only a personal accomplishment. Instead, it is a product of collaborations of the whole academic community at Udinus in pushing the limits of technology-based innovations.
“This award belongs to our academic community, including faculty members, students, staff members, partners from industries, as well as the general public, for their commitment to supporting Udinus. All of them have channelled their synergies to build a collaborative spirit to further enhance the quality of technology and education for a better Indonesia,” Prof. Pulung emphasized.
According to the rector, as a private university located in the heart of Semarang, Udinus has shown its commitment to creating a campus with a technology-based ecosystem. With a total of six faculties and 17,000 active students, Udinus is still producing innovations to this day, including an AI-based learning platform in the field of preservation and sport, a public service information system, numerous digital apps for SME empowerment, and many more.
Prof. Pulung emphasized that universities held a strategic role in producing graduates who could resolve problems faced by the nation, particularly in the digital era. He believed that the future of Indonesia must be shaped by generations that are educated, moral, and technologically literate.
“This 2025 Indonesian Visionary Award also serves as a strategic sign that Udinus’ role in the realm of education and technology has received international recognition. This moment will also be a new motivator for us to step up and innovate for the better of Indonesia,” he concluded.
The award received by the rector is expected to be a source of inspiration and motivation for others to keep inflicting positive impacts on the public, particularly in enhancing the realm of education and technology, both on the national and international levels.
