Research culture has been a main attraction for the Library and Publishing Technical Executive Unit (Dinuslib) at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus). Through a collaboration with the Reasoning Student Activity Unit, the library hosted a Coaching Clinic program, themed ‘Mindset and Research as the Foundations of Scientific Works.”
This training program was done offline and divided into various sessions for four weeks. Taking place in the BI Corner Dinuslib and the I.5.6 classroom at Udinus, the event was attended by twenty active students from the Reasoning Unit. It aimed to equip them with the capacity to conduct research projects, from the beginning to the scientific publication process.
The first session discussed the exploration of innovative ideas. Meanwhile, the second session continued with a review of structures and techniques for writing scientific works. The third session discussed the implementation of Reference Management Software. The event concluded with the fourth session, discussing publication strategies in reputable journals. Every material was taught by lecturers and academic professionals at Dinuslib.
The Head Organizer of the Coaching Clinic, Intan Ira, explained that this event’s purpose was to encourage students to improve their capacity in research and scientific writing. “With this training, students are equipped with abilities, like determining the research topic, arranging the research structures, listing the references, and publishing the scientific works,” she revealed.
“We hope students will possess stronger foundations in their research, including the Student Creativity Program, theses, and journal articles. Students from the Reasoning Unit are also expected to teach their knowledge to their fellow students,” she uttered.
Dinuslib as a Learning Friend
The Head of the Library and Publishing Unit at Udinus, Aan Prabowo, S.Hum., M.A., ., emphasized the commitment of Dinuslib to instructing students in the field of research. “We want our library to be a friend for students in learning.
