AN EXPERT OF INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING FROM ITB MOTIVATES STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF ENGINEERING UDINUS
"The existence of wireless objects that connected to computers today is very common. This industrial revolution took place almost everywhere in human life. This revolution becomes the challenge for people in industrial engineering, "said Ir. T.M.A Ari Samadhi, MSIE, PhD when he gave a public lecture to students of Industrial Engineering Study Program of The Faculty of Engineering Dian Nuswantoro University (Udinus).
This industrial revolution that is currently at level 4.0 makes us familiar with wireless objects that we can access everywhere. For example like smart watch (smartwatch) that can detect our activities, to help in measuring our health for both personal use or in a bigger level such as industry companies. This 4.0 is already everywhere. "This revolution is balanced with the increasing of Internet of Things (IoT), which in 2015 there were about 14 billion things that already connected to the Internet. So it is estimated that there will be 20 billion things connected to the internet in 2020, "added Ari.
For the social impacts created by the industrial revolution 4.0, like the eroded of human power replaced with machines and internet, Ari himself invited industrial engineers not to excited with it. "Social impacts are certain. But you should not concerned much about the social impacts. Upgrade your ability and keep learning according to your field. It is better than being allergic or even antipathy with this 4.0 industrial revolution, "said Ari in front of 200 students of Industrial Engineering at the hall of H building on 7th floor, Udinus.
"This Public Lecture is regularly held by the Faculty of Engineering, and the theme for this Public Lecture is" Welcoming the Era of Industrial Revolution 4.0. We hope that the students are well prepared with the world changing, in order to be able to prepare themselves in the world of work and entrepreneurship, "said Dr. Dian Retno Savitri Ir MT, The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Udinus.
