Four students from Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) successfully secured their positions at the Regional Student Art Week (Peksimida). Those four students succeeded in achieving medals in three different categories.

One of those students, Muh. Helmi Pahlevi won second place in the men’s dangdut singing category, which allowed him to earn a silver medal. Speaking of the singing category, Henokh Denny Patrick Saitnen also secured fourth place in the men’s pop singing category. As for the photography category, two students were able to get their hands on two gold medals. Those students were Muhammad Valendra Aditya, who won the monochrome photography category, and Prasetyo Dwi Wirianto, who won the colored photography category.

Muhammad Valendra Aditya expressed his joy in winning the monochrome photography category at the Peksimida. He revealed that he and his fellow contestants had been preparing for a week before the art week.

“We were instructed by faculty members during the photo-hunting process at various locations within Semarang. We did this to improve our photography senses in capturing the field,” Valendra said.

Meanwhile, Gilang Rizky Gardianto S.Ds., M.M., one of the faculty members, expressed his pride. He was proud of two Visual Communication Design students for winning two categories in the same event. For the time being, Gilang and other winning teams from Udinus are preparing themselves for the National Student Art Week (Peksiminas) in October.

“The National Student Art Week (Peksiminas) is planned to take place in Malang. For that reason, we and other teams shall prepare to our greatest capacity for the national contest,” he uttered.

The Peksimida itself is a routine event held once every two years on the regional and national levels. It aims to facilitate students in improving their capacity and practical skills. The example of these practical skills can encompass singing, performance arts, literature, arts, dance performances, comic drawing, and many more.

Dr. Kusni Ingsih, M.M., (the Vice Chancellor III of Student Affairs) expressed her pride in the accomplishments achieved by four students from Udinus. This success showed that those four students competing at the Peksimida had shown their best efforts.

“The Regional Student Art Week (Peksimida) serves as a platform for students to hone their practical skills in both cultural and artistic fields, as well as their capacities in general. We hereby congratulate those students for showcasing their glory at that prestigious event,” she concluded. (Humas Udinus/Alex. Foto: Dok. FKes)
