Working as an intern is among the platforms for students to gather experience and savings; this positive impact also occurred to Sabrina Ananda Riddya. Currently, Sabrina, an Undergraduate Accounting Student at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), works on her career at the Public Accounting Office (KAP).

Sabrina has triumphantly showcased her best performance as an intern. As a Junior Associate, she is tasked to prepare working papers that will later be audited. Not only that but writing confirmation letters and preparing the needed documents for clients are also parts of her job.

“I think the benefit of being an intern is that I could differentiate the industrial practices with the theories. Furthermore, I need to adapt more since this is my initial attempt to make an entrance into the industry,” Sabrina, born August 18, 1999, in Semarang, revealed.

The Public Accounting Office (KAP) is an institution approved by the Ministry of Finance to function as a platform to serve its clients. Initially, Sabrina, a student of the 2017 cohort, did not expect to be allowed to work as an intern at the KAP. Upon spending time there as a trainee, she was permitted to expand her knowledge as an employee at the Public Accounting Office.

“I have been interested in this field since my freshmen life. Even though I did not expect much, it turned out that I could become an intern and gain the opportunity to hone my skills,” Sabrina explained.

As an intern, Sabrina often encounters problems and she normally solves them by asking her seniors and looking for solutions on the internet; however, she has learned a lot by overcoming obstacles she encountered. “Throughout the internship program, I have practiced several theories including calculating income taxes in article 21 and filing financial reports,” she revealed.

Sabrina, an active member of the Campus Pers Wartadinus Student Unit, does not possess any difficulty in managing her time in the internship and campus activities as she is currently in her eighth semester with only her thesis and internship report as her responsibility. “Since this January, I have not been allowed to abandon my job at the KAP so I usually work on my thesis on Saturdays or holidays,” she concluded (Humas Udinus/Haris.
