It is costly and tiresome to plan and organize an event, there were also many cases where the event organizers became tired before the show even began. The fact that there are many things to do to prepare for the event might cause these event organizers to be overwhelmed at times. Committed to resolving the problems surrounding these event organizers, three students of the Computer Faculty at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) developed a startup engaging in event organizing.

The startup, ‘Eventstory,’ could be a form of assistance to event organizers, particularly in searching for a venue and planning the event rundown from the beginning to the end. Moreover, Eventstory was mainly developed by two Information System students, namely Zaenal Anshory and Wintry Aditya Surya, and a student of the Informatics Department named Muhamad Nabil. This startup is also equipped with a feature allowing the users to look for sponsorship, spread information regarding the event to a certain target audience, and aid in consumption matters.

The startup leader, Zaenal Anshory, explained that his idea of developing a startup originated from his accepted Student Creativity Proposal, a program initiated by the Ministry of Education. A year after the proposal was accepted, those three students could realize the ideas they conveyed in the proposal through the support given by a startup community in Semarang. Zaenal added that the main concept of this startup was nothing new, but they only added several distinctive features to the existing concepts. “We got this idea upon seeing and experiencing ourselves in the Computer Club on campus. At that time, we, as event organizers, could not enjoy the events we hosted, as we got extremely exhausted by the time the event began. Through these problems we experienced ourselves, we managed to establish an idea to be made as a proposal, and fortunately, the proposal was accepted by the Ministry of Education at the National Student Creativity Program. This startup of ours could also help event organizers regarding consumption,” he uttered.

Zaenal revealed that Eventstory held several distinctions compared to the conventional Event Organization (EO), including the way the information is spread and the fact that Eventstory is capable of looking for sponsorship. Despite being a newly launched startup, Eventstory managed to help several big events in Semarang. “Our startup could aid many events in Semarang, namely a big event hosted by a prominent university in Semarang. We managed to earn Rp. 4 million a month through Eventstory. To those who are interested in our services, you could contact us through our website, eventstory.io, and our Instagram account, @eventstory.io,” he uttered.

Meanwhile, Agus Triyono, S.Sos, M.Si., the Head of Public Relations at Udinus, hoped for this startup to benefit the public and various communities or institutions in organizing an event. “This startup is very well done, and I hope Eventstory could properly be utilized by any communities and institutions in hosting both big-scaled events and small-scaled ones.” He concluded.
