“There are lots of things I learned on the campus to be implemented in my business as Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) prioritizes entrepreneurship to its students. Here at Udinus, I learned how to properly market my products and attract consumers,” revealed Avita Soca Nuraini, a Management student at Udinus who has run her own business named Hampers Puding Hias Mimocimo.
Having been operating since September 2019, Avita started her business as a result of her family’s love for pudding. This Mimocimo pudding is her original product alongside her parents. They proceeded to create many kinds of puddings including, moss pudding, Oreo pudding, and corn pudding.
“That is how I got the idea to establish this affordable pudding business, not only are the puddings unique, but also these kinds of products are not common, at least in my environment,” Avita, a student of the 2017 cohort, explained.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Avita, born on November 1st, 2000, could sell up to four big pans and two 24cm-long pans of puddings daily. Not only that but she could also sell more than 10 cups of puddings every day. Avita sells many kinds of puddings including Pandan Moss Pudding, Mandarin Orange Milk Pudding, MooOreo Pudding. All those products are marketed on the @mimocimo Instagram account.
“I could normally gather roughly Rp. 5 million in monthly turnover, whereas on special occasions such as Eid Mubarak, Christmas, and New Year, I could earn up to Rp. 10 million in monthly turnover,” Avita uttered.
Avita, a radio announcer at the 2018 Jateng Fair with the Central Java Communications and Informatics Service, was not only busy with her business but she also had to deal with campus and organizational activities. As a student, she could balance her time to get the best grades.
“Time management is also among the knowledge I obtained on the campus which I still implement to this day, because if I could not manage my time, my parents would not allow me to continue my business,” Avita concluded. (Humas Udinus/Haris. Foto. Dok Pribadi)
