Having a passion for a job is literally the dream of millions of people, especially Arka Dimas Rismana (28), an alumnus of the Visual Communication Design Study Program at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus). Currently, Arka implements his designing skills as a Creative Designer at Djarum Ltd.

Sitting on the marketing services seat, Arka job’s is to handle communication strategies in the Regional Office in Semarang, which scopes the whole Central Java province and the Special Region of Yogyakarta. This position aims to bridge the headquarters with regional offices, particularly in visual communication matters.

“My team and I create visual materials for various marketing needs. For instance, the point of sales materials usually resides in billboards and shop signs,” Arka explained.

Arka, an alumnus of the 2011 cohort, has achieved countless accomplishments one of which is his contribution to various branding materials. He has always been involved in product brandings and events hosted by Djarum Ltd., including tying partnerships with many cafes to market their products and serve as a key visual in organizing events.

“I have always been curious about designing and it turned out that my passion dwelled there all along. Back then in my campus days, I was amazed by the fact that hopes and morals always laid behind a visual art,” Arka, born on May 2, 1993, in Semarang, added.

Upon graduating from college, Arka, a former member of the Visual Communication Design Student Association, was once a graphic designer and an art director in a start-up business. Not only that, he also encouraged students on campus to push their potential to its limits.

“You needed to utilize every relation if you were to pursue your career as competition would always be there, so you have to be confident but not be cocky. Additionally, preparing for the worst should also be noted,” Arka concluded. (Humas Udinus/ Haris. Foto: Dok. Pribadi)
