Managing time for campus and organizational activities, as well as being accomplished is not an easy matter for ordinary students. However, Meutia Pelangi Naghia (21), an English student at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), is no ordinary student.

According to Meutia, being involved in organizations and competitions was essential before embarking career in the industry. Tons of accomplishments have been brought by her one of which was the Best Presenter at the 2021 Undergraduate Conference on Language, Literature, and Culture (UNCLLE). At that conference, she managed to present her paper entitled ‘Politeness Strategies Used by The Characters of Brooklyn Nine-Nine.’ The conference was participated by a total of 200 participants including 30 presenters.

“Not only did I prepare the learning materials but I also had to ensure that I am mentally prepared too. I also occasionally consulted my instructor so that I could present my paper with a satisfying result. I will always give the Humanities Faculty assistance to accomplish more and more achievements,” Meutia uttered.

In addition to having tons of accomplishments, Meutia is also good at organizational activities on campus. Meutia, born on June 27, 2000, in Semarang, was given a big responsibility and trust by the students in the faculty to be the governor of the Humanities Faculty Student Executives (BEM FIB). She said that campus organizations served as a platform to enhance students’ leadership skills.

Despite being busy with organizational activities, Meutia still does not abandon her studies. By creating a priority scale, she can allocate her time for campus and organizational activities as well as participate in competitions. Furthermore, she also often communicates with her members so that campus and organizational activities can go together.

“Other than leadership skills, Organizational activities grant me access to expand my relations, and better my relationship with my fellow Student Executives members and other student organizations.
