Making a name for their campus internationally is one of the highest accomplishments a proud student could achieve. Divya Kania Putri (22) has triumphantly done so by winning an international competition in Taipei alongside the Gita Dian Nuswa Choir Group at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus).
Divya was grateful for being able to uphold the name of her alma mater in her first year in the Gita Dian Nuswa Choir Group. She and her fellow choir members had been faced with an international competition entitled the Taipei International Choir Competition (TICC). Obviously, they had to undergo a selection process before representing Udinus at that competition.
The choir group attained various titles at the event including the Silver Award in the Youth Choir category, the Gold Award in Ethic and Traditional Music category, and the Best Performance of Taiwanese Composition by A Non-Taiwanese Choir. “Alhamdulillah, I managed to be chosen as one of the choir members and successfully claimed many medals. Truly a proud experience,” she shared.
Prior to this competition, Divya alongside the Gita Dian Nuswa Choir Group routinely held a daily training session for six months. She felt that teamwork was important to reach their common goal. “We have sacrificed a lot to bring this campus’ name to the globe. We will always give our best teamwork emerging from the support and prayers of the whole academic community at Udinus,” she revealed.
Additionally, Divya is currently a Management Student at Udinus of the 2017 cohort. According to her, every aspect of our life needs management. On campus, Divya had learned many things relating to management. “I have learned how to properly manage finance, businesses, and activities here in the Department of Management,” Divya, born on August 29, 1998, in Grobogan, explained.
In the future, Divya plans to compete in a solo singing contest as she wants to keep learning to maximize her vocal technique and hone her talent. “Despite not being confident enough to compete in a solo singing competition, I will try my best. For now, I would like to focus on my studies since the seventh semester is coming, and I must prepare my thesis,” she concluded. (Humas Udinus/Haris. Foto: Dok. Pribadi)
