Diving into the broadcasting industry had never even been a thought for Shaqila Angra Prameswari (20). That was until she continued her studies at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), as a Communication Science student.

Shaqila, born on March 27, 1999, in Jakarta, initially did not have any slightest idea about majoring in Communication Science. However, she began to develop an ambition to become a reporter or anything relating to the field of television in her second semester. In addition to classes, she also earned knowledge through her membership in the Campus Pers Wartadinus Student Unit, which mainly engages in television media. “I have joined this unit since my first semester, and today, I am trusted as the Chief Editor for the 2019-2020 incumbency with several target work programs being successfully hosted,” she revealed.

Additionally, Shaqila, also known as Qila, used to participate in a community known as NetGoodPeople (NGP) in Semarang with her first project being a web series entitled Possesweet. “In Wartadinus I serve as a reporter, while in NGP I commonly learn how to be a cameraperson (campers). This is not an easy task to undertake, particularly for a woman, and I am proud to be different by trying new things,” Qila emphasized.

Qila who is currently in her sixth semester claimed that she used to struggle in paying tuition. But regardless, she did not want to burden her parents and become a freelancer in a survey institution. “In addition to being a freelancer, I also occasionally aid my parents in marketing their products. One of which is a pudding named ‘Puding Mantul,’ mainly marketed through WhatsApp and Instagram. Also, I am a reseller of legal premium applications with my friends,” she uttered.

With her abundant opportunities to be an entrepreneur, Qila expressed her gratitude on campus for instilling an entrepreneurial mindset inside her. “This entrepreneurship fever pushes students to be competitive in establishing businesses, which impacts our future in a positive way.
