The Student Executives of the Computer Science Faculty at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) hosted the 2023 Basic Student Management Leadership Coaching (LKMMTD). The coaching primarily discusses leadership, with 131 students being the participants of it.
The Basic Student Management Leadership Coaching (LKMMTD) is a routine annual agenda aimed at enhancing students’ skills. The 2023 LKMMTD took place from February 4th to 5th, 2023, with the theme ‘Self Leadership and Capability.’ Before heading to the Pinus Kenteng Villa in Salatiga, all students gathered on the third floor of the E building to attend a seminar.
During the seminar, Dr. Ahmad Zainul Fanani S.Si., (The Vice Dean of the Computer Science Faculty) stated that a successful leader is an individual with the capability of inflicting good influence on other people and their groups. A leader must also know his own character, as well as everyone involved in an organization. In addition, a leader must also possess communication and emotional abilities.
“Every individual has their way of communicating things. However, we must be able to communicate things properly as a leader,” he added.
Meanwhile, Shabrina Khairu Zaida, the head of the committee, hoped for this coaching to enhance both the quality and human resources of the students of the Computer Science Faculty. This would ultimately allow them to be good leaders in the future.
“At some point, these students will later be trained and educated concerning professional and communicative problem-solving methods. Thus, this event is expected to guide students to be better, more professional, and more rational in solving problems,” she hoped.
At the seminar, students were seen enthusiastically listening to the seminar. On the same occasion, students were also obliged to form a group consisting of 10 to 15 students each. Every group had to discuss and choose the perfect leader for their respective group. In addition, the chosen group leaders must explain their understanding regarding the most fitting leadership types to be implemented in an organization.
That four-hour seminar was also attended by a Staff Member of the Mayor of Semarang, Suwarto S.E. M.Ta., as well as Sutarni S.H., M.A.P., the Secretary of the Staffing, Education, and Training Board of Semarang. Both of whom acted as speakers at the seminar.
On a different occasion, Devi Septi, a Communication Student of the 2022 cohort, was glad to take part in the 2023 Basic Student Management Leadership Coaching (LKMMTD). This is because she could gather more shards of knowledge and expand her relations with her fellow students.
