In an attempt to shape students into potential leaders in the future, the Student Executives at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) conducted the 2023 Intermediate Student Management Coaching (ISMC). The coaching program took place on the third floor of the E building on March 20th, 2023.

The program served as the continuation of the Basic Student Management Training, which had previously been hosted by the Student Executives. This year’s Intermediate Student Management Coaching Program (ISMC) was themed ‘Creating Leaders That are Relevant to The Current Era.’

The event was opened by the greetings conveyed by Dr. Kusni Ingsih, M.M., the Vice Chancellor III of Student Affairs. In addition to opening the event, she also discussed the first material regarding students and the role of the student affairs team in sustaining the needs of students. Furthermore, the event also featured other competent speakers to discuss several topics.

“You are what you believe in. Believing in yourself can essentially boost your confidence and potential.”

“Students must be able to find their true selves, so they can earn confidence and develop their potential. As a part of the student affairs team, it is our duty to guide students to finally understand their true identity for the sake of this nation,” she uttered.

Following the material presented by Dr. Kusni, Lieutenant Colonel Infantry Sutan Pandapotan Siregar, S.I.P., stepped onto the stage as the second speaker, with nationality knowledge being his topic of discussion. During his session, he encouraged the audience to be students with a sense of morality and dignity, considering that students are essentially agents of change.

“Never stop learning, and do your responsibility as students! Also, do not ever forget to utilize the knowledge you garnered on campus to its fullest, and organizational knowledge is not an exception. This is because this specific knowledge may become crucial eventually as you deal with societal problems in the years to come,” he encouraged.

Coincidentally, the third speaker, AKP Yulianto, S.H., M.H., also presented a learning material concerning organizational innovations. Moreover, Dr. Rindra Yusianto, S.Kom., M.T., the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau at Udinus, also made an appearance to discuss two topics, encompassing hospitality and student affairs.

As stated by Oktaviana Nur Wulansari, the head of the committee of this event, despite being an annual agenda, there were several changes in this year’s Intermediate Student Management Coaching (ISMC) compared to that of the previous years. The changes mainly scoped the theme, learning materials, and technicality.

“The 2023 Intermediate Student Management Coaching (ISMC) was only hosted offline for a day. While last year, this same event was conducted for two days. Hopefully, through this change in technicality, participants are not easily bored and learn many things from the featured speakers,” she added.

She also explained that the program was participated by 147 delegations from various student organizations on campus, who would later be leaders of their respective organizations. The event ran with an enthusiastic atmosphere judging from the participation of the audience during the Q&A session. In addition to learning from speakers, participants were also obliged to engage in a Forum Group Discussion with each other.

“Wishfully, this coaching program could motivate those participants to become respectable and competent leaders in the future,” Oktaviana concluded. (Humas Udinus/Ika. Foto: Humas Udinus)
