Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) collaborated with the Ministry of Cooperative and SMEs of Central Java and the Ministry of Education, HIPMI, and other Indonesian universities to launch a collaboration program entitled Kampus Hebat Wirausaha Kuat. The program was initiated by the Entrepreneurship Unit at Udinus in an attempt to motivate students to establish Small and Medium Enterprises.

The program also implemented the Presidential Decree No. 2 of 2022 concerning developing national enterprises from 2021 to 2024. The program launching took place on the third floor of the E building, with a gong strike conducted by Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom., (the Chancellor of Udinus) marking the beginning of the event.

As a campus centered around the concept of entrepreneurship, the Kampus Hebat Wirausaha Kuat serves as a platform to motivate students to be young entrepreneurs and establish Small and Medium Enterprises in Indonesia.

During his interview, the chancellor explained that this program functioned as a trigger to reinforce the enterprise sector in Indonesia. In an attempt to achieve this particular goal, Udinus also offers six credit hours for Entrepreneurship Classes.

There are also several entrepreneurship programs initiated by the Ministry of Education in which Udinus has participated. Those programs include the Student Creativity Programs (PKM), and the Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program (PPKO).

“Currently, there have been around 18% of Alumni of Udinus carving their careers as entrepreneurs, and we have offered several classes concerning entrepreneurship here on campus. Several entrepreneurship programs initiated by Udinus will eventually allow students to pour their creativity into their businesses,” the chancellor explained.

On that occasion, Dr. Wisnu Sakti Dewobroto (a representative from the Ministry of Education) encouraged universities to inflict a new entrepreneurial breakthrough in Indonesia. According to the data provided by the government, universities are expected to aim for at least a 3,95 ratio for enterprises from various fields. To reach this goal, universities hold important roles, and Udinus serves as a pioneer in this particular sector.

“Universities or college institutions play an important role as an entrepreneurship ecosystem which is capable of working with various parties, including Small and Medium Enterprises and the government. In addition, Udinus also has HIPMI PT and alumni supporting this program,” he explained.

On the same occasion, several prominent figures were also present, namely, Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom., (the Chancellor of Udinus), Dr, Kusni Ingsih, M.M., (the Vice Chancellor III of Student Affairs), Dra. Ema Rachmawati, M.Hum, (the Chairman of the Cooperative and SMEs Service of Central Java). In addition, the HIPMI of Central Java and representatives from the Tangan di Atas (TDA) Community also made an appearance with a commitment to improving the SME sector of Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Dra. Ema Rachmawati, M.Hum (the Chairman of the Cooperative and SMEs Service of Central Java), hoped for this program to serve as a trigger in improving the quality of SMEs within Central Java. She further revealed that her party was putting a finishing touch to the syllabus, which allowed entrepreneurs to be more informed.

“We aim for this syllabus to be finished at the end of 2022, and hopefully, it will be able to be converted into grades later on,” she concluded. (Humas Udinus/Alex. Foto: Humas Udinus)
