Campus Activity Unit (CAU) Wartadinus Campus Press encourages the local community of Semarang to foster a creative and innovative journalistic spirit. This act was realized through organizing the ‘Wartafest 2023’ event starting on Saturday, (20/05/23).
Wartafest 2023 carried the theme ‘Productivity and Creativity in Semarang City’. The general head of the Wartadinus Campus Press, Sekar Hasna Novaida, stated that wartafest consists of a series of events. Starting from the creative video competition ‘A Day in My Life’.
“Through this competition, we are hoping that students can explore more about Semarang City as well as encourage the community’s productivity. Aside from the competition, there is also an exhibition of works from all members of the Wartadinus Campus Press,” added Sekar.
On that occasion, the Wartadinus Campus Press also launched the E-Buletin Sudut Warta Volume 2 with the theme ‘Knowing The Power Lies Inside Yourself’. The chairman of the bulletin team, Muhammad Ammar, explained that the reason for choosing the theme was to adjust the target audience, which is teenagers. Topics such as insecurity and self-confidence crisis are quite close to teenagers.
“Sometimes, in adolescence, some people are still confused in finding their true identity namely finding their interests, talents, and passions. Therefore, in this e-bulletin, we want to encourage readers to realize the potential that exists within themselves,” she explained.
A total of 32 guests attended the inauguration ceremony. Among others, delegates from Udinus’ student organizations and student activity units were also present at the event. Not only that, the Student Press Institution (SPI) from other universities also attended the inauguration of the e-bulletin.
