The capital market is now a trend that is quite attractive to the public. Based on data from the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI), the number of investors in Indonesia has increased significantly from 2020. The number of investors is dominated by Gen Z who are considered as young investors. Unfortunately, these young investors are often not properly educated. That is what drives John Imanuel Kurniawan to help educate the public about the capital market by becoming a content creator.

To improve competence in educating, Yohanes, a student of the Bachelor of Accounting Program participated in the certification of Securities Brokerage Representative. Furthermore, He has now obtained a Regular Technical Analyst certification from the Capital Market Professional Certification Agency (LSP-PM). His goal is to educate people,

“I finally have the license certificate as well. Although I'm still not well known, I'm happy to share. Especially sharing tips and steps that must be known that are considered trivial, but important for our investment journey," explained the student who is familiarly called ‘John’.

His interest in learning about the capital market arose when he was in high school. John's previous background was in cooking. However, due to limited costs, he finally chose to seek experience by working first at CV. Karya Terang Perdana (GiggleBox).

“From my first job, I got my first salary. At that time during COVID-19, and the hype of the investment was still very high and viral, I initially tried to learn about investment," he said.

From the learning process, he was finally more interested in accounting. According to him, the two things are very related. For fundamental analysis of a company, it must be related to financial statements made by accounting. According to him, instead of just learning to analyze financial statements self-taught, he finally decided to learn how to make financial statements. accounting. Menurutnya daripada hanya belajar analisa laporan keuangan secara otodidak, ia akhirnya memutuskan untuk  mempelajari cara membuat laporan keuangan.

"I studied financial statements, from which I gained a lot of knowledge and something that is certain. Hence I decided to study at the Accounting Study Program of Udinus," said the student who won the title of Capital Market Ambassador Competition Winner of PT Bursa Efek Indonesia Quarter 1 – Social Media Education Category 2023.

Furthermore, you can start with a small investment and increase it gradually along with your understanding and experience. He suggests the young generation join an investment community or discussion group to learn.
