Hendriansyah, an alumnus of the Information Systems Department at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), who is currently running the SMEs Pack, shared his experience and knowledge with hundreds of students participating in the 2024 Independent Entrepreneurship Program (WMK). At the Kick-Off WMK held last week, Hendriansyah emphasized the importance of consistency in running a business.

Hendriansyah stated that for a startup to run properly, consistency is needed. For example, if students were to envision a business centered around exporting, the business must persistently follow this vision. In addition, consistency is also the primary key for a business to develop and garner a good reputation from customers.

The alumnus of the Information Systems Department at Udinus emphasized that the success of a business was heavily affected by consistency, such as the vision of the business. For instance, if a business were to focus on the exporting sector, it would be important for students to develop their exporting skills.

“Consistency can also gain a reputation from both partners and consumers. You mustn’t change your businesses’ vision or else it will confuse the external parties, which would affect their trust in your businesses,” Hendriansyah stated.

On that occasion, he also shared the beginning of his business, which was initially named Culture Academy. This startup led him to earn accomplishments in various competitions.

Those accomplishments encompassed the Most Progress of Implementation at the Melbourne-Bandung Innovation Series Pitch Competition and the Runner-up at the ITI-PII Young Innovation Awards.

Through his consistency and dedication, Hendrianyah’s startup kept seeing improvement and attracted many relations. In 2023, Culture Academy became SMEs Pack, which is an aggregating platform for B2B trading to resolve challenges surrounding supply chain and distribution.

“Currently, my business has attracted clients from various sectors, including hospitality, resort, villa, and furniture sectors. Our business connects SMEs with customers with transparent price and sustainable quantity,” he explained.

The Importance of Good Reputation

Hendriansyah also further emphasized that consistency in delivering product’ quality and excellent service would deeply impact on the success of the business. By sharing his successful experience, he hoped for the WMK participants to follow in the same footsteps as his.

“Excellent reputation will help expand your customer networking and show recommendations from satisfied customers. Don’t easily give up and focus on the main goals of your businesses!” he concluded.
