Hundreds of students of the Diploma Medical Records and Information Department at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) took the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) as a way to test their competence before their careers. The exam was participated by 183 students, with a total of six types of tests.

The exam spanned from December 30 to 31, 2024, and will be continued from January 2 to 5, 2025 on the second floor of the B building at Udinus. On that occasion, students took a series of tests, including admission, assembling, coding, filling statistics, and releasing information.

Arif Kurniadi, M.Kom., the Coordinator of OSCE and Internship Affairs in the Health Science Faculty at Udinus, explained that OSCE aimed to ensure students’ readiness before their careers. Arif also added that the exam involved practitioners from various hospitals, including dr. Adhytama MPH’s Hospital, Dr. Kariadi’s Hospital, and Telogorejo Hospital.

In addition, OSCE also aligned with the Excellent accreditation possessed by the Diploma Medical Records and Information Department at Udinus, allowing the public to put more trust in Udinus. “This exam aims to measure our students’ competence so they can eventually be prepared for their careers. We also partner with numerous hospitals to ensure that our students can get an assessment with industrial standards,” he uttered.

Meanwhile, Deddy Setiadi, a Coder Casemix and a Consultant Instructor at Dr. Kariadi’s Hospital, also acted as a supervisor at the exam. He expressed his appreciation to the learning outcome of medical record students at Udinus. Furthermore, Deddy hoped for the learning process at Udinus to see an improvement, allowing the campus to produce more competent workforces.

“From the data of our evaluations, students have shown satisfying results. We have seen the extent of their knowledge and competence as future medical recorders. Udinus has shown its credibility as an educational institution with the ability to lead the generation to hold high-level competence,” Deddy concluded. (Humas Udinus/Alex. Foto: Humas Udinus)
