Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) keeps establishing partnerships with various parties to prepare its students to compete in the industry. Currently, the Health Science Faculty at Udinus has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Major Distribution Unit at the Indonesian Electric Company on Friday, June 21st, 2024.

The agreement was started with a discussion session between both parties. The session took place in the teleconference room on the first floor of the D building at Udinus. It was opened by a speech delivered by Enny Rachmani, S.K.M., M.Kom., Ph.D.,—the Dean of the Health Science Faculty. On that occasion, the dean revealed that the partnership would begin with an industrial visit to the Indonesian Electric Company, particularly in the Major Distribution Unit of Central Java and Yogyakarta. Students from various classes will be allowed to see work and safety procedures within the company.

“Hopefully, students can learn the procedures well as a reflection of what they have learned in classes. Following the industrial visit, we will select a few students to work as interns in that company,” she uttered.

Meanwhile, Moh. Sadli—the Manager of the Major Distribution Unit at the Indonesian Electric Company of the Central Java and Yogyakarta branch—also encouraged students to use these opportunities. By attending the industrial visit and working as an intern, students are expected to learn relevant skills for their future careers. Working in the health and work safety field is also appropriate to the current skills possessed by students.

“Work and health safety procedures are inherently important in the Electric Company, as we mainly handle high-risk jobs. From now on, we will guide students to adapt their mindset to the current high demand of workforces in the industry, which is caused by the technological advancements,” Moh. Sadli emphasized.

As additional information, the MoU agreement was done ceremonially on the first floor of the D building at Udinus. The procession was witnessed by 46 students of the Health Science Faculty.
