Products made of moringa have shown their potential in serving as a solution to various health products in Indonesia. As an example, recently, a group of students made nuggets with moringa as their basis. The product was named Mori Bites Nugget. These students were from Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus).

Those four students were Imania Salwa Adani—the team leader, Yunita Cahyani Fatikasari—a marketing officer, Bryan Zeke Haryanto—a production officer, and Aisy Fitri Rusmawati—the product developer. They formed a company to market and produce the product, namely, Moringa Corps.

In addition to nuggets, Moringa Corps also developed other products based on moringa, including Moringa Milk and Mori La Mian. Their products have previously been showcased at the Creanovative Expo hosted by the Entrepreneurial Unit at Udinus months prior.

Imanina Salwa Adani, the team chief, explained that the nuggets were made of specific nutritional elements to help children’s developmental stage. The product is expected to support the government program of reducing stunting rates, especially among toddlers.

“Mori Bites Nuggets are made of simple ingredients with rich nutrition. The ingredients consist of moringa and chicken meat. The nuggets bear protein, iron, and vitamin A. All of which are essential to prevent stunting,” Imanina revealed.

Additionally, the production process is also easy, allowing the team to mass produce the nuggets. In addition to nuggets, Imanina revealed that their milk products were well-received, with more than 100 sales.

“We want to show that moringa can be processed into various kinds of food. As a result, we can see that our products are consumable by people of various demographics, including children and adults,” she uttered.

Bryan added that currently Mori Bites Nuggets are marketed through social media and various culinary expos. By doing so, the products will be more spread among the public.

“By marketing it to various expos, we want to showcase our potential as a local superfood product with health benefits, particularly in handling stunting,” he uttered.

This attempt is a tangible step shown by students at Udinus in supporting the nutritional quality among Indonesian children. As additional information, consumers can also order the nuggets through the team’s Instagram account at @moribitesnugget. Meanwhile, consumers are also allowed to order their milk products at @moringa.milkieee and their noodle products, which are also made of moringa, at @morilamian _official. (Humas Udinus/Alex.
