Being entrusted as the Vice President of Student Executives (BEM-KM) at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) was one in a million opportunity for Wintanti Ardi (20), an Undergraduate Public Health student at Udinus.

Incumbent for the 2020-2021 period, Wintanti has been active on campus since her freshman days. In 2019, she served as a part of the Commission IV External Student Council Representatives in the Health Science Faculty (DPM Fkes). With her sheer determination and commitment as well as responsibility, she managed to serve her purpose in various positions she possessed.

“I was entrusted to be one of the candidates, despite being a new student with a lack of experience myself. However, that one-in-a-million opportunity would not come twice; moreover, the large amount of support I received guided me to try new things,” Wintanti revealed.

Alongside Dion Saputra, the Current President, Wintanti did a few preparations prior to coming out as a candidate. In her early incumbency, Wintanti had faced the infamous pandemic in Indonesia. Several offline activities must forcefully be changed into online activities. However, the pandemic did not extinguish the fire inside her in organizing activities and some activities could be organized semi-offline.

“We occasionally gather and coordinate to minimize errors during the events, obeying the health protocol. Not only that but this could also bring us closer together,” she explained.

Annually, the Student Executives at Udinus change its cabinet name. ‘Tunas Emas’ is the cabinet name in Wintanti’s incumbency. According to her, the most impressive event they organized was the group dinner and discussion during Ramadhan, this was because the event induced familial bonds within student organizations at Udinus.

Despite being busy with various activities, Wintanti is not overwhelmed in allocating her organizational and academic activities. She will occasionally check her activities’ deadlines and finish them optimally.

“There are times when I prioritize my organizational activities; however, I do not just cast my academic affairs aside, and up to the fourth semester, I managed to maintain the cum laude predicate. Hopefully, it will stay that way until I graduate,” she concluded. (Humas Udinus/Haris. Foto: Dok. Pribadi)
