THE STUDENT COUNCIL (BEM-KM) OF UNIVERSITAS DIAN NUSWANTORO, ONCE AGAIN HELD AN INTERACTIVE DIALOGUE EVENT

Determined to prepare the youths to be the agents of change, The student council of Udinus (Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa Keluarga Mahasiswa, BEM-KM) organized an event known as ‘Dialog Interaktif Vol.2’. That event took place on Monday, June 5th, 2023 on the 3rd floor of the E Building, Udinus, Semarang.
 
Dialog Interaktif Vol.2’s theme was “Youths’ Role as The Agents of Change in Facing the Society 5.0 Era”, BEM-KM invited two famous speakers, who were also experts in their respective fields or sectors. 
 
The first speaker from the academic was a lecturer and the Head of the Career Center of Udinus, Sendi Novianto S.Kom, MT. On that occasion, he explained to the students about societal development up to the Society 5.0 era alongside several things to be prepared for. 
 
“To face the Society 5.0 era, an individual needs to possess both competence and adaptation skills. Competence refers to the basic literacy abilities including numeration literacy, information literacy, and science literacy,” he explained.
 
Meanwhile, the second speaker was a practitioner from Relationship Manager Priority Banking of Bank Mandiri, Dyan Maratani. In his lecture, he reminded the students of the advantages of investing in their youth. 
 
“Investing from a young age is crucial, by having the desire to invest, the student has taken a role as an agents of change. This could happen because the societal mindset develops as the era progresses,” he said.
 
Following the lecture, a discussion session moderated by Muhammad Ridho began. The discussion session was attended by 150 students with fiery enthusiasm as there were lots of questions asked by the students.
 
With this event, the head organizer, Falih Patria Fatahilah hoped the youths to be more adaptive in society. “Hopefully, the students or youths, in general, will be able to develop critical thinking skills in dealing with societal issues and problems,” he concluded.
