Students of the Visual Communication Design Program at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) held an exhibition showcasing their masterpieces created during the Industrial Internship Program (IIP). Not only did they showcase scientific papers, but they also displayed their capability in creating physical works. The exhibition took place in the gallery room located on the first floor of the H building.

The exhibition entitled ‘Wis Udah’ lasted for two days from Wednesday, April 12th,2023, and it was open to the whole academic community. The event was directly opened by Ir. Siti Hadiati Nugraini, M.Kom., Ph.D., the Head of the Visual Communication Design Program. Moreover, it was witnessed by several faculty members and students, with a total of twelve students participating in the IIP for six months.

At her warm greetings, Ir. Siti Hadiati Nugraini, M.Kom., Ph.D., emitted enthusiasm at the exhibition. She explained that the exhibition served as a stepping stone for students to showcase their skills and talents before ending their journey as college students. In addition to acting as final assignments, those creative works created by creative students were produced to benefit their former workplace.

“The showcased works were created as a result of problem-solving conducted by our students during the Industrial Internship Program (IIP). Despite its name ‘Wis Udah’ meaning an ending in Javanese, we would still like to hope for the best for our students to continue their careers properly,” she hoped.

Rr. Almiera Cindakara, the Head Committee, explained that the exhibition featured variations of creative works, including social media design, VR videos, 3D videos, book covers, calendar illustrations, and mascots. Then, she further revealed that the exhibition was the final journey they had to embark on as students.

“We chose this concept as final assignments are generally the last dock of our studies. However, it does not entirely mean that this is the end of everything, and these works would serve as proof that all these years, we have learned a lot on campus,” she uttered.

Almiera also informed regarding her final assignment, namely Promotion Media Design as a Platform to Conduct Psychological Approach to Form a Product Image. Through her final assignment, she could resolve problems surrounding product promotion in corporations using several promotion media, including social media design, brochures, banners, merchandise, and discount vouchers.

“I chose this topic due to corporate urgencies in improving their products’ image, and coincidentally, advertising is also my field of expertise. Through this work of mine, I hopefully could contribute to corporations in promoting their products,” she explained. (Humas Udinus/Haris. Foto: Humas Udinus)
