It is truly a proud inducing experience to represent your campus in an international-scaled program. At the very least, that was what happened to Rosa Paramitha, an Undergraduate Informatics student at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) Semarang. Rosa participated in the 2021 University Innovation Fellows (UIF) in the Stanford University.

Rosa Paramitha, familiarly known as Ocak, claimed that she received tons of benefits during his participation in the program initiated by Bangkit 2021, including attending a group discussion forum with many different students across the globe. Ocak uttered that in that session, she could be aware of various kinds of problem solvers from students with different cultural backgrounds.

“I also got the opportunity to play many kinds of games, so I could gather many relations and connections from several students on this planet,” revealed the owner of the @rosaparamitha_ Instagram account.

Ocak engaged in a selection process conducted by the Computer Science Faculty at Udinus to participate in the program. The selection process consisted of a toefl test, a psychological test, and making an interview video log (vlog) which later would be selected by the UIF.

Ocak, born on May 5th, 2000 in Semarang could not help but express joy upon visiting the Stanford University, located in California, United States. Participating in the UIF Program was her first time interacting directly with students from many countries. She added that the fellows were empowered to be the agents of change in the university.

“During participating in this program, we were encouraged to transmit attitudes, skills, and knowledge to resolve global problems,” Ocak uttered.

The UIF Program itself is a part of the 2021 Bangkit Program initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology partnering with several international companies such as Google.

As a curious student, Ocak also actively participated in a student organization mainly in the Industrial Engineering Student Association (HMTI) for the 2020/2021 period as the chief of Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC) Udinus Chapter. GDSC was a global community empowered directly by Google.

“These student clubs aim to facilitate students who want to be agents of change through technological and IT development,” explained Ocak, the runner-up of the PHP2D Abdidaya Nomination in the Support System category.

Ocak, a student of the 2018 cohort, revealed that the lecturers in the Computer Science Faculty always actively supported their students’ activities. Various Independent Campus Programs (MBKM), instructions, and supports provided by lecturers were also important points for Ocak.

“I currently am interested in several programs offered by MBKM and coincidentally, Udinus is supportive towards the program in each faculty,” Ocak concluded. (Humas Udinus/Haris. Foto: Dok. Pribadi)
