A triumphant victory once again was earned by a student from Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus). Recently, Arista Perdana Putri Darmoyo, a shooting athlete from the Communication Science Department at Udinus, has successfully secured three kinds of accomplishments at the 46th Seasa Shooting Championship.

Those three accomplishments include second place in the 10m Women’s category, first place in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Category, and third place in the 10m Women’s Air Pistol Category. This is indeed a phenomenal feat, as Arista, also known as Tata, managed to outclass hundreds of other international athletes.

Tata—currently a freshman in the Communication Science Department—stated that there had been several stages she must undergo. Prior to this, she had undergone Pre-Event Training (PET) and unofficial training. Both of which are forms of dedicated training. The training took place on January 15, 2025. Then, on the following day, the qualification began.

“The top eight athletes made it to the final stage. In the finale, there was a rule of shooting five bullets twice within 4.10 seconds. Then, we were obliged to shoot a bullet twice within 50 seconds. After those two shots, one of those eight athletes would be eliminated depending on their performance. The process would be repeated until the judges found the last man standing or the championship,” she uttered.

The main event was held from January 15 to 22, 2025 in China Taipei. Tata revealed that she trained for a whole month to come up with excellent preparations.

“Two weeks before our departure, we also trained in two sessions, namely, the morning and afternoon sessions. In the morning, we trained our physical capabilities. At night, we hone our shooting prowess,” she revealed.

Upon securing the win, Tata expressed her joy and determination to do even better in her upcoming athletic performances.

“For now, I plan to prepare myself for the ASC Thailand, SEA Games, Asian Games, World Cup, and Olympics,” she uttered.

In response to these accomplishments, Dr. Rindra Yusianto, S.Kom., M.T., the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau, expressed his pride in Tata’s astounding commitment. According to him, these accomplishments were indeed phenomenal, as they were earned at an international event.

“I shall congratulate Tata for these groundbreaking accomplishments. We shall grant our accomplished students with appreciation. Hopefully, Tata can do even better in her next appearances,” he concluded. (Humas Udinus/Ika. Foto: Dok. Pribadi)
