The students at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) triumphantly brought medals from the 2023 Regional Sports Week (Porprov) Central Java XVI. They grasped a total of 56 medals in various sports branches.
Those medals were obtained in 14 different sports branches participated by the students of Udinus. The acquired medals consisted of 26 gold medals, 13 silver medals, and 17 bronze medals, with wall climbing, taekwondo, and karate being the majority.
The medallists from Udinus did not only represent Semarang but also several other regions in Central Java. The 2023 Regional Sports Week (Porprov) took place from August 5th to 11th, 2023 in Pati Raya (Blora, Rembang, Pati, Kudus, Jepara, and Grobogan).
Dr, Rindra Yusianto, S.Kom., M.T, the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau, expressed his appreciation to the students for competing in Sports Week tirelessly. Their spectacular performances also brought their respective regions to acquire medals in that sports event. Dr. Rindra hoped the students could maintain their quality and routinely achieve various accomplishments on the regional, national, and international levels.
“Our students have truly showcased their remarkable accomplishments and persistence. Every athlete has shown their finest performance and our students managed to be among the best in the 2023 Regional Sports Week,” he explained.
The Vice Chancellor III of the Student Affairs Sector, Dr. Kusni Ingsih, M.M., was amazed by the students for achieving a total of 56 medals. Those accomplishments served as conclusive proof that Udinus Athletes, supported by the Student Affairs team, were slowly regenerating.
“We will always tirelessly provide our students with support. This accomplishment is truly amazing, hopefully, those who competed in the Sports Week obtained priceless experiences. We are hoping this accomplishment could be improved and serve as a stepping stone for other athletes from many different sports branches,” Kusni concluded.
The 2023 Regional Sports Week of Central Java was participated by 7735 athletes from 35 different regencies and cities in Central Java. There were 2914 medals in that sports event, including 853 gold medals, 853 silver medals, and 1208 bronze medals.
