The Chancellor's Dialogue became a series of activities at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) in commemoration of National Press Day. On that occasion, the Chancellor of Udinus represented by Vice-Chancellor II Udinus Dr. Guruh Fajar Shidik SKom., MCs., as one of the speakers.

The routine activities held by the Central Java Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) also commemorate the 78th Anniversary on February 12, 2024. Carrying the theme 'Choosing a Responsible Leader'. Presenting 3 chancellors from private universities in Central Java Province, the event took place at an Auditorium called Ir. Widjatmoko USM, a while ago.

The theme raised on the current National Press Day is related to the general election which will be held soon. The chancellor's Dialogue which was welcomed by the Chairman of the Undip Foundation as the host, emphasized the critical role of all chancellors that present at the event. As it symbolizes the intellectual leaders who can give their perspective neutrally.

In his presentation, Dr. Guruh expressed his views regarding the importance of voter participation in democracy. This is described as the analogy of the human body and democracy acting as the brain of the state body. Then the voter will act as the nerve cell that makes an important contribution to brain performance.

"So if one of the nerve cells is not active, there will be a disturbance in the entire system. It will automatically decrease the effectiveness of democracy. Therefore, the community has an important role as voters to carry out democracy," explained Dr. Guruh.

Furthermore, according to him, elections are more than just a party of democracy. Rather, it is the foundation for a country as the brain that drives all aspects of life.

“We remind each voter to exercise their right to vote so that democracy can function properly and optimally. It has also been socialized to all Udinus students, not to be undecided voters or originally known as golongan putih (golput)," said Dr. Guruh Fajar Shidik SKom., MCs. (PR Udinus/Haris. Photo: Doc.
