THE PKM TEAM FROM THE ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS FACULTY HOSTED AN EVENT FOR HOUSEWIVES TO UNLOCK THEIR ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSET

A Community Service (PKM) team from the Economics and Business Faculty at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) was committed to improving the economic quality of the locals of Sampangan, Semarang. The community service was embodied in the form of a training program carried out by five faculty members, who mainly gave motivation to the locals to unlock their business mindset. It was hosted on Monday, November 7th, 2022.
 
The training program was participated by 23 housewives from Sampangan. It mainly discussed steps these housewives should take to become more productive to hone their potential in utilizing their productive ages to their maximum extent. 
 
The head of the community service team, Zaky Machmuddah, SE., MSi., Akt., CA., CSRS., CSRA., ACPA., stated that the training program aimed to unveil the entrepreneurial mindset resided within these housewives. This mindset would later push these housewives to create creative products with a minimal budget. 
 
“Additionally, we also conducted several other training, including making bouquets filled with snacks, hijabs, and play money, which can essentially be oriented on creativity,” he revealed.
 
Furthermore, Zaky elaborated that the training program, hosted in a community center, could shape these housewives to gather additional income. Through the learning materials presented by the instructors, these housewives were expected to open their very own enterprises in the future. Thus, they can utilize their spare time to be more productive.
 
“From what we could see from our training program, the locals were enthusiastic upon gathering a more widely open mindset concerning entrepreneurship. For the time being, we will conduct further observation and evaluation to oversee the success of this training program,” he added.
 
Other team members were also present to discuss other topics, encompassing business strategies and creative products. Those team members consisted of faculty members from the Economics and Business Faculty, including Prof. Dr. Dwiarso Utomo, SE., M.Kom., CA., ACPA., Dr. Anna Sumaryati, SE., MSi., CSRS., Hayu Wikan Kinasih, SE., MSi., and Bambang Minarso, SE., M.Si., Ak., CA., ACPA.
