A total of 32 high school volleyball teams competed at the 2023 Dinus Volleyball Competition. It was part of a bigger event known as the 2023 Dinus Festival (Dinusfest).

The volleyball competition, which took place at the Udinus Sports Center (USC), was initiated by the Volleyball Unit at Udinus. It was hosted from January 19th to 21st, 2023. The teams competing in this competition were divided into two categories, namely, 26 men’s teams and 6 women’s teams.

Rati Eliza Tanjung, the head of the committee, explained that the 2023 Dinus Volleyball Competition aimed to enhance the participants’ talents as volleyball athletes. According to him, every team had prepared to their limits for this event as seen in their phenomenal performances. The whole festival was more enlivened by the involvement of more units and community at Udinus.

“Through this competition, those young athletes will enhance their sportsmanship. Moreover, we have prepared everything we could for the 2023 Dinusfest only,” Rati emphasized.

Rati also hoped for those talented athletes to be a part of the Volleyball Team at Udinus so that the team could win many different competitions in the future. “Hopefully, these young athletes could join us her at Udinus to further learn how to enhance their soft skills. Additionally, we also expect this festival to always be hosted and attract more participants,” Rati revealed.

Meanwhile, Dr. Kusni Ingsih M.M., the Vice Chancellor III of Student Affairs, stated that the Dinusfest was a festival hosted by Udinus specifically aimed at high school students. If a student were to win a competition at the festival, they would be rewarded with money and scholarships to continue their studies at Udinus. “Every participant will indeed do their best to be the winner. Through this event, they will eventually understand the concept of winning and losing in a competition. From there, they will develop their competitive mindset. As for the winner, we would also like to reward them with scholarships and other interesting prizes,” she concluded.

The Dinusfest is an annual agenda consisting of competitions dedicated to high school students and college students alike. The word ‘Dinusfest’ itself is an acronym standing for Dinus Festival, which was first hosted in 2015. For additional information, at the closing ceremony on September 29th, 2023, there will be a guest star featured for interns at Udinus. (Humas Udinus/Alex. Foto: Humas Udinus)
