The Faculty of Health Science (FKes) at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) invited new students to be more caring toward the environment. This activity is embodied through an open lecture ‘Dinus Inside’ which was held in the courtyard of the K building at Udinus, on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023.

Emphasizing the theme ‘Green & Safety Campus’, the event was participated by 363 new students of the Health Science Department. It commenced with speeches from two esteemed guests from Split University, Croatia: Prof. Anamarija Jurcev Savicevic, MD, PhD, dan Marijana Geets-Kesic, MD, EMDM. During their presentations, they provided insights into countries located at the crossroads of Central Europe and Southeastern Europe, renowned for their cuisine and agriculture. Following this, two other experts elaborated on their respective fields.

During the first session, Peter Samuel Tandio, BA, conveyed a topic about plastic junk. Which became the main problem in keeping the environmental preservation due to the difficulties of recycling plastics. For that reason, he tried to remind the new students about their responsibility to protect the environment.

“It is our responsibility to contribute to maintaining sustainable and environmental health,” said Peter.

Featuring, AKP A. Endro Prabowo, S. Kom, CHFI., the second session focused on the importance of safety in the campus environment. He highlighted that students can enhance campus safety by utilizing social media positively.

AKP. Endro explained “Make the use of social media wisely. Beware of hedonism and avoid falling into various traps, such as online loans. It is important to distinguish between essential needs and our desires.”

Noval Riski Fadlurrahman, the head of the event organizer, hoped that the freshmen of the Health Science department would feel comfortable within the campus atmosphere, creating a positive college nuance to achieve valuable knowledge.

“Through this kind of activities on campus, we aim to nurture a sense of family bond among the new students to form a harmony between students, aiming to embody a safe and comfortable campus environment,” concluded Noval. (WTDN/Kurniawan. Photo: WTDN)
