The performance arts done by the freshmen and lecturers in the Computer Science Faculty at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) marked the closure of the 2023 Dinus Inside. The performance featured each representative from seven different departments in the faculty, on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at the G building courtyard.
The audience at the performance sparked a rousing enthusiasm. Moreover, the freshmen and lecturers were granted the opportunity to appear on stage. The event was participated by 1,645 students from seven different study programs including Undergraduate Informatics, Undergraduate Information System, Undergraduate Visual Communication Design, Undergraduate Communication Science, Applied Film and Television, and Diploma of Informatics.
The Dean of Computer Science Faculty, Dr. Drs. Abdul Syukur, M.M., explained that this closure aimed to instill familial bonds within all new students in the faculty. Every department in the faculty was obliged to perform dances with various traditional clothes from Papua and Kalimantan. Thus, it served as a platform to showcase the diversity in the Computer Science Faculty.
“Take your spirit up to the sky! We, the lecturers, gladly serve diversity and provide a maximum learning experience on campus to the new students of the 2023/2024 cohort. We shall convey those diversities through this traditional clothes performance, let us be synergized for our beloved faculty,” he emphasized.
The excitement was not extinguished at the lecturers’ performance. Ilham Ahmadi, the event organizer, explained that the freshmen were also given the opportunity to make an onstage appearance including musical poems and flashmobs which were performed by ten students from seven different departments.
“After this, a bonding session will be held by chanting unique yet short songs called ‘yel-yel’, the theme of the songs will not be too far off the Computer Science Faculty. This session aims to strengthen our bonds and to showcase the appeal of our faculty,” he concluded.
On that occasion, several prominent figures also made an appearance at the scene including, Tri rustanti, S.E., M.M. (the Chairman of Dian Nuswantoro Foundation), Lakshiputri Arnindita, S.Sos., M.M., (the Head of Dian Nuswantoro Foundation), Prof. Dr. Supriadi Rustad, M.Si., (the Vice Chancellor I of the Academic Sector at Udinus), and Dr. Kusni Ingsih, S.E., M.M., (the Vice Chancellor III of the Student Affairs at Udinus).
