Theresia Viola Ratu Rosari Prasetyo – Student of Hotel Management Applied Bachelor Program at Udinus
Currently, Theresia Viola Ratu Rosari Prasetyo is pursuing her cooking career which is the most loved field for her. Theresia, a student in the 2021 Hospitality Management study program, has been studying this field since she was in elementary school. Her interest emerged because she was inspired by her parents who also run a culinary business. Hence, it encouraged Theresia who is familiarly called 'Vira' to pursue this career field.
Her love of culinary fields and her hard work in studying the cooking field eventually led her to the Hotel Study Program at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus). Vira, who was born in 2003, chose Udinus Hotel Management Study as a place to gain knowledge and upgrade her skills.
"I think the Udinus Hotel Management Program matches my interest in enjoying cooking science, said Vira.
While studying at UDINUS, Vira was one of the students who were active in both organizing and scoring achievements. Recently, she managed to bring victory in the NHI Tourism Skill Competition (NTSC) 2023. With a chicken siomai that was recreated in the style of a five-star restaurant, the girl managed to win third place in the event.
“The theme of the competition was Indonesian appetizer, so I made chicken siomai. There are several components in serving one portion of siomai such as boiled eggs, cabbage, siomai tofu, potatoes, and bitter melon. Then, I serve it in the style of restaurant dishes so that it would look beautiful and pleasing to the eye," she explained.
Previously, Vira had also won the Student Culinary Competition at Hotel Dafam Jogja. At that time, she and another student managed to win 2nd place by serving purple sweet potato laksa noodles.
Actively Participates in Organizations
Vira, a student who is interested in the field of art and culinary is also active in student organizations (ormawa) on campus. In her first year of uni, she joined the Hospitality Student Association. In her second year, precisely in the 3rd semester, she gained the trust of being the Vice Chairman of the same organization.
"The experience that I gained from participating in the organization gets me to many relations and also constructive suggestions," she continued.
In terms of academics, there is one lesson that Vira still applies to this day. It is a material about the field of cake and methods of production effectiveness.
“It's a kind of cooking method that maximizes leisure time and the effectiveness of cutting ingredients so there won't be much food waste. This knowledge is what I have always applied until now," uttered Vira.
She hopes that in the future, the generation of her junior can continue to uphold the name of Udinus hospitality in the field of Indonesian tourism. "Hopefully, I can always carve memorable achievements," she concluded.
