The sports building at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) indeed holds facilities with professional standards and has been used by professional teams as a place to train. Recently, a team from Proliga, LavAni, which is owned by the sixth Indonesian President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), used the sports building, namely, Satria Sports Center, to prepare for its next match.

On that occasion, SBY did not only come to watch the team but also to give the athletes support. On that occasion, Dr. Pulung Nurtantio Andono, S.Kom., M.—the Rector of Udinus—was also seen accompanying SBY, expressing his appreciation to LavAni for putting its trust in the Satria Sports Center.

“It is indeed an honor for our Satria Sports Center to be used by SBY’s club to train for its next match. This trust shows that our sports building has indeed fulfilled the professional standards,” he revealed.

Prof. Pulung hoped that the training conducted by professional teams could serve as a motivation for athletes at Udinus to be more serious in their training. This will allow these athletes to be more competent in earning accomplishments.

“It is indeed a form of motivation to see professional athletes training at the same venue as our athletes. Hopefully, this will be able to motivate our athletes to be more inspired in improving their skills and achieving more,” he hoped.

On a different occasion, Dio Zulkifli, the captain of LavAni, expressed his gratitude to Udinus for preparing the Satria Sports Center for them to train. The team trained for their second match at the 2025 Proliga in Gresik.

“The facilities are excellent, and the lighting and equipment, in my opinion, are in line with the professional standard. We have also previously trained here several times, and there have not been any drawbacks or issues,” he uttered.

As additional information, the Satria Sports Center is the newest facility at Udinus, which was first opened by the Rector at Udinus and a representative from Pangdam IV Diponegoro in July 2024. It is situated at Jl. Satria Raya, Plombokan, North Semarang Sub-district, Semarang City, Central Java. The Satria Sports Center facilitates three kinds of sports, including volleyball, basketball, and futsal. (Humas Udinus/Haris. Foto: Humas Udinus)
