The Doctoral Computer Science Department at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) further shows its capability by graduating 13 doctors. Recently, Dr. Ahmad Rofiqul Muslikh successfully became one of them through his dissertation entitled ‘Outlier Detection and N2O Emission Prediction in the Agricultural Sector Using Assemble and XGBoost Approaches.’

Dr. Ahmad Rofiqul Muslikh successfully defended his dissertation at an open session hosted in the conference room on the first floor of the H building. The session was led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom.,—the head advisor and it ran well without any technical issues on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

Dr. Ahmad was the thirteenth graduate of the Doctoral Computer Science Department with the cum laude predicate. His research mainly focused on the development of an outlier detection to improve the quality of datasets.

During his presentation, he stated that high-quality datasets must also produce better predictions. He identified the outlier using the combination of three algorithms, including Isolation Forest, DBSCAN, and One Class SVM. It was abbreviated as IDO.

“Hopefully, this model can contribute to the field of computer science, particularly machine learning, and the agricultural sector to support better land cultivation,” said Dr. Ahmad.

During the writing of the dissertation, Dr. Ahmad was instructed by three other promotors, including Prof. Dr. Pulung Nurtantio Andono S.T., M.Kom., Ir. Heru Agus Santosa, Ph.D., IPM., ASEAN Eng., and Prof. Dr. Aris Marjuni, S.Si., M.Kom.

Commitment to Producing Excellent Graduates

On a different occasion, Purwanto, S.Si., M.Kom., Ph.D., the Head of the Doctoral Computer Science Department at Udinus, explained the department possessed various upper hands that would support its students. He also added that the department had achieved the ‘Very Good’ accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education under the decree no. 11405/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/D/X/2021.

“We have proficient instructors and well-equipped facilities to provide our students with maximum learning experience,” Purwanto uttered.

Purwanto also congratulated Dr. Ahmad for his success in achieving his doctoral degree with the cum laude predicate. Furthermore, he hoped that the doctoral degree earned by Dr. Ahmad could contribute to the development of the nation.

“We provide optimal instruction and learning processes to our students so that they can finish their studies with the best possible results. Through the Doctoral Computer Science Department, Udinus is committed to producing more excellent graduates to compete in the realm of global technology,” he concluded. (Humas Udinus/Alex.
