The Undergraduate Management Department at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) once again held the Annual Creative Advertising Awards (ACA Awards) 2025. The award served as a platform for students to further master the marketing theories they had previously learned by creating forms of video advertisements. 

The ACA Awards has been hosted eight times as of 2025. It took place on the sixth floor of the I building at Udinus, on Monday, January 20, 2025.

The event was mainly participated by management students who had previously competed in a series of competitions, as well as the judges. 

Imam Nuryanto, S.E., M.M., the event coordinator, explained that there were 97 advertisements submitted for this event. Imam continued that the awards taught students to further hone their mastery of marketing theories. In addition, these theories can also be implemented by students in making advertisements that can be uploaded on YouTube, Instagram, and other social media platforms.

“Out of all 97 ads, we will select the 52 best of them, and we will filter the best ones into 24 ads with 6 different categories. In each category, we will appoint one winner,” he explained.

Six of those categories were the Best Label, the Best Communication, the Best Visual Effect, the Best Packaging, the Best Brand Name, and the Best Advertising Categories. The videos were directly assessed by the judges, excelling in marketing theories. In addition, Imam also added that this year’s ACA Awards was relatively distinct from previous years, as students could present advertisements about imaginary products of products from SMEs.

In response to these video commercials, Imam expressed his pride and approved of those works. According to him, the commercials were remarkable and deserved more appreciation. 

“The most important thing is that our students can also learn how to create creative projects in addition to the theories. Students can not only define the theories but also creatively apply them in coming up with advertisement projects,” he uttered.

An Appreciation from the Dean

On that occasion, Dr. Retno Indah Hernawati, S.E., M.Si., the Dean of the Economics Business Faculty, was also present to deliver an opening speech. During her speech, she expressed her appreciation to the organizers for hosting this event, which had become an icon for the Management Department.

“This is indeed a spectacle from our department. This event offers opportunities for our students, particularly those majoring in Marketing Management. This is because we need to understand the aims of our ads, the media, and the delivery before we make any form of advertisements,” she explained.

The dean hoped that the ACA Awards could provide students with many benefits and experiences.

“In the future, I suggest that this event to allow students advertise the Management Department at Udinus, as it will cause students to be prouder of the place they study at. Hopefully, our students will be proud of their participation in the ACA Awards, serving as a memento for them during their studies in the Economics and Business Faculty at Udinus,” she concluded.
