As a step to quickly spread COVID-19 vaccines in Semarang, Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) was chosen to be a vaccination center four times in a row. The Health Service of the city chose Udinus to commemorate the 77th Anniversary of Indonesia, which will take place on August 17th, 2022.
The vaccination will open from late July to early August of 2022. Specifically, the 21st and 28th of July, as well as the 4th and 11th of August. The vaccination will be held at the courtyard of the E building from 10.00 AM to 12.00 PM. It is targeted at the academic community and the public.
Additionally, this vaccination is also a part of two programs, including ‘Non-contagious Diseases Post,’ and ‘COVID-19 Vaccines Go to Campus.’
Mohammad Sidiq, S.Si., M.Kom., the Coordinator of the Vaccination Center at Udinus, stated that the campus had always been ready to help the city government to provide a location to quickly spread the vaccines. The campus has also prepared the facilities to support the vaccination.
Sidiq also mentioned that the organizer had also complied with the health protocol, as well as made the vaccination flow to keep the whole situation conducive with no crowded area. Sidiq then further added that the vaccination would involve volunteers to help with the whole procession.
“We are ready to help the government to support the spread of vaccines, especially for the second and third vaccines. To help us, we will also employ volunteers comprised of students, faculty members, and staff members. Previously, we have also had their backgrounds checked,” he explained.
Sidiq revealed that Udinus is among ten universities in Semarang to be chosen by the city government be a vaccination center. He also hoped for all four sessions of vaccination to run perfectly without any technical issues.
“It is truly an appreciation for us to be chosen as the vaccination center in Semarang. For that reason, we will not waste this opportunity, and spread the vaccines so that it can reach everyone, as well as commemorate the 77th Anniversary of Indonesia,” he revealed.
