The E-Sports Community at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) partnered with Fear Eater (FTR) E-Sports and became a national champion in a video game entitled Valorant. The champion title was bestowed upon the team upon claiming victories over 17 teams at an event named the 2022 FTI E-Sport Championship.

The event was hosted by a private university in Salatiga. It facilitates E-Sports players of various video games, including Valorant and Mobile Legends. In the Valorant category, the Udinus FTR team successfully emerged as the champion upon competing against the home team during the finale.

The team consists of five students from various departments, with the team leader, Riangga Harian Pratama, being a Communication Science student. Meanwhile, the other four team members are Informatics students, including Daffa Restu Fadhillah, Junianto Endra Kartika, Nicholaus Verdhy, and Hanifan Fadhilah Wibowo.

During his interview, Riangga, the team leader, stated that the team had been preparing for a whole month for this E-sport competition. The players were previously selected and coached by a coach from FTR E-Sports.

“Our team consists of five students with their respective roles. I myself served as a sentinel, with my teammates being a controller, duellist, initiator, and smoker,” he stated.

The team also did not look down on the opposing teams, as it took good strategy and communication to defeat them. At the semi-final and final stages, Udinus FTR was able to achieve two-win streaks. Riangga further revealed that there would be more national Esports competitions in which the team would compete.

“Hopefully, we will be able to maintain our solidarity to bring pride to our campus on the national level. Furthermore, the whole academic community also provided us and other teams with constant support to participate in national and international E-sport events,” he added.

The 2022 FTI E-Sport Championship was held from July 18th to 21st, 2022. The event was filled with remarkable teams from various universities.
